Dyer Engineering apprentice Ryan Malone was awarded the N.D.E.F. 2013 Award for Engineering Apprentice of the year by Sir Bob Murray at a recent Derwentside College awards ceremony
Ryan Malone started his Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship at Dyer Engineering in July 2012 and is mentored by Dave McGeorge, who quickly recognised Ryan’s exceptional engineering talent. An increased programme of study was put in place enabling Ryan to complete the full BTEC level 3 Diploma within 1 year.
Ryan has excelled in classroom projects where all work achieved distinction or merit grade and his workplace achievements are equally impressive with Ryan now producing a wide range of high precision components using both C.N.C. and conventional machinery.
Dyer Engineering are proud to back apprenticeships and are now supporting Ryan in conjunction with Derwentside College through an advanced apprenticeship at New College Durham where he is working towards an H.N.C. in manufacturing engineering.
